DiMe Launches Scaling Trusted, High-Impact AI Care Navigation to Accelerate Adoption of Patient-Centered AI at Scale
Founding members span Big Tech, healthcare, payers, and care navigation innovators to define what good looks like for trusted AI-enabled care journeys
Boston, MA — The Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) today announced the launch of Scaling Trusted, High-Impact AI Care Navigation, a new multi-stakeholder initiative convening leaders from technology, healthcare delivery, patient advocacy, life sciences, and policy to accelerate the responsible adoption of AI-enabled care navigation at scale.
AI has reached a moment of enormous potential in healthcare. Tools capable of guiding patients through complex care journeys are already here, promising more timely access, clearer communication, and more personalized support. Yet too often, these tools are deployed without a shared understanding of how care actually unfolds. Where patients enter the system, how information moves between touchpoints, and where friction, delay, and confusion derail care. Health systems and payers are under pressure to do more with fewer resources, while patients continue to bear the burden when care coordination breaks down.
“Patients don’t experience healthcare as algorithms or policy frameworks,” said Jennifer Goldsack, CEO of DiMe. “They experience it as delays, confusion, and stress at moments when they are already vulnerable. This project is about making sure AI is used to reduce that burden, not add to it, while giving organizations the evidence and confidence they need to scale what works.”
A significant step in advancing DiMe’s Healthcare 2030 vision for a sustainable health system in the digital era, this effort builds directly on The Playbook: Implementing AI in Healthcare, developed with Google for Health and more than 30 partners to help organizations identify high-value AI use cases and move responsibly from pilots to scale. This project, alongside DiMe’s future 2026 work to operationalize AI governance, will apply these implementation principles and focus on high-impact care navigation use cases that reduce patient burden and strengthen system performance, grounded in real-world care journeys, evidence-informed ROI models, and case studies that define what good looks like for AI at scale.
Agencies, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), have emphasized the need for interoperable, patient-centered digital tools, alongside clearer expectations for governance, accountability, and performance monitoring as AI becomes embedded in care delivery. The broader administration has also called for AI that improves patient access, advances equity, and delivers measurable value. Scaling Trusted, High-Impact AI Care Navigation is designed to meet this moment by translating policy ambition into practical, open source, evidence-based resources the field can use now.

DiMe will host conversations at CES 2026 to engage the broader ecosystem. On Tuesday, January 6, from 1:50–2:30 p.m. PT, Goldsack will moderate “Patient Voices First: Partnering for Startup Success” on Level 1, Hall G, Startup Stage, exploring how startups can work with patient communities early to build trust and deliver meaningful, patient-centered solutions. Goldsack will be available to meet with attendees following the session.
