DIME SPONSOR

Qualcomm has joined DiMe as a sponsor.

Supporting DiMe’s mission to advance the next era of patient-centered healthcare through the responsible digitization of healthcare.

The partnership

Most of what determines a person’s health outcomes happens outside the clinic. Care remains largely episodic and reactive — arriving after a problem has already appeared. Qualcomm is expanding its work in healthcare through personal AI, the on-device intelligence layer that runs across wearable and connected devices — smart glasses, watches, hearables, and other technology people already use. The company’s goal is to help move healthcare from an episodic, reactive model toward one that is continuous and proactive, using insight drawn directly from those devices.
As part of this effort, Qualcomm, together with the Global Health Connector, has formed the Personal AI Health Alliance, bringing together payers, health systems, value-based care providers, self-insured employers, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and academic research institutions to explore unmet needs in healthcare and to help ensure this intelligence is built in service of patients everywhere. Its work is centered on three themes: perceptive intelligence, which helps unlock richer health insights; proactive intelligence, which can help deliver more timely and relevant insights; and proximal intelligence, which can help keep personal health data closer to the user through on-device processing.
Several organizations have already signed on as founding members, including DiMe. DiMe brings to the Alliance its deep expertise in the responsible digitization of medicine, ensuring that as intelligent wearables generate new layers of health data, the field has the ethical frameworks, clinical validation standards, and patient-centered design principles to use that data well.
