Right now, the healthcare industry is at a critical tipping point. Significant attention, investment, and activity have been directed toward AI in healthcare, underscoring its immense potential to transform the future of our healthcare system for the better. However, much of the current focus has overlooked the need for long-term planning and thoughtful integration of fully matured AI into care delivery settings, ensuring its benefits are realized for everyone.
The Playbook: Implementing AI in Healthcare project will advance the successful implementation of health AI technologies in clinical care delivery settings to optimize value returned and drive better health outcomes for the greatest number of patients.
The resulting resources from this project will help stakeholders to:
- Implement health AI in clinical care to increase health system efficiency and impact
- Establish clarity around opportunities for greater patient and caregiver equity
- Appropriately consider safety, clinical, operational, and technical dimensions
- Navigate the federal and local regulatory, policy, and market access requirements
- Bridge educational gaps between developers, decision-makers, clinicians, and patients
- Scale innovative AI solutions in the market to benefit the individuals that need it most
Only when key decision makers are equipped with tools and frameworks on how to implement health AI – something established consortia have not yet solved – will the value of health AI promises be unleashed in clinical care.
